CBS is near a show arrangement for an unscripted true crime anthology series, with the very first season set to concentrate on the JonBenét Ramsey murder case, Variety has learned.
The show, created by Tom Forman (“48 Hours”) and Critical Content, might be air as early as autumn 2016–ahead of the 20th anniversary of Ramsey’s passing. The show will reunite the instance’s initial investigators along with new specialists to analyze the case, which dominated tabloid headlines for years.
Ramsey, a 6-year old regular beauty pageant contestant, was discovered dead in her family’s dwelling in Boulder, Colo. in 1996. Her parents and older brother were initially linked to her murder, but were later exonerated. The case was reopened, nevertheless, in 2009 and remains unsolved.
