Not too many of us were aware of the fact that legendary British musician Phil Collins recently underwent a back surgery.
But hey, don’t get alarmed because Collins is currently doing fine after the surgery he underwent last week.
64-year-old Collins revealed of his back surgery on Tuesday night when he was unable to attend the 30th Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner (a charity event) held at the famous Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City on October 6.
In a video message recorded from his hospital room in Miami, the Another Day in Paradise singer for the first time revealed to the world of his back surgery.
“I’ve had back surgery the last week and I’m literally just recovering,” he said. “I’m stuck here in a Miami hospital.”
Collins was supposed to be at the charity event along with his ex-wife Orianne to pick up an award for his immense contribution to charity.
For the record, Collins and Orianne founded the famous non-profit organization Little Dreams Foundation, which helps children all over the world between 4 and 16 years old to realize their dreams in the fields of sports and art.
Since its inception in 1985, the Great Sports Legends Dinner has raised over $100 million to support spinal cord injury research at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
