We have just received news that American Hall of Fame basketball player Moses Malone has died at the age of 60.
According to reports, Malone was found unresponsive and not breathing in a Norfolk, VA hotel room on Sunday morning. Paramedics were instantly called to the scene to try to resuscitate the NBA legend to no avail. Malone was pronounced dead at the scene. According to several news sources, Malone died in his sleep.
It is currently not clear what Malone was doing at the hotel or what caused his death. But according to police, they found no signs of foul play in his death and are therefore done with their investigation.
As it stands now, it’s only the medical examiner’s office that will be able to determine the cause of Malone’s death.
Malone, who was nicknamed “Chairman of the Boards”, was considered one of the greatest basketball players of his generation. Many pundits of the basketball game ranked Malone among the best centers in the entire history of the NBA. Malone’s professional career in the NBA started from 1974 and ended in 1995.
During his 19-year NBA career, Malone won countless awards – most notably he won the NBA Most Valuable Player award 3 times.
Malone was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.
