It has just come to our attention that MTV’s Nitro Circus star Erik Roner died on Monday after a skydiving accident in Lake Tahoe, California.
Roner, who was a professional skier, tragically lost his life after he hit a tree while trying to land after his jump at the Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows Resort.
According to the spokesperson for the resort where the accident occurred, Roner was not the only skydiver conducting a skydiving performance that day. The spokesperson said the 39-year-old was part of a group of professional skydivers who were hired to display their skydiving skills for a golf tournament.
Unfortunately for Roner, things went awfully bad for him as he performed his jump. The spokesperson for the resort said as Roner tried landing, he hit a tree and sustained very severe injuries which ended up claiming his life.
The Nitro Circus star was well known all over the world for his extreme sports and stunts.
Roner left behind a wife and two children.
Since this story is still developing, we are keeping our eyes on it and will keep readers up to speed on further developments. But in the meantime, our hearts go out to Roner’s family and friends.
