A shocking thing unfolded in India this week when a man was seen walking down a busy Indian street carrying the severed head of his wife.

The grisly scene, which took place in the city of Pune (located about 100 miles from the city of Mumbai), saw 60-year-old Ramachandra Chavan carrying the bloody severed head of his wife in one hand and carrying a bloody axe in the other hand.

The 60-year-old wandered the streets of Pune apparently unaware of the horrifying things he carried in his hands. Not even the horror on the faces of passersby nor their screams of horror could draw his attention to the fact that he was doing something horribly wrong.

The 60-year-old just kept on wandering the streets as though nothing was wrong and would have continued wandering on had it not been for the intervention of police officers who chased and caught him.

According to News World India, police quickly covered the severed head with a cloth and marched the 60-year-old to the police station.

While it’s not clear what made Chavan to decapitate his wife, but investigators believe that he killed his wife because he suspected that she was having an extramarital affair with another man.

Chavan’s wife has been identified as 55-year-old Sonabai Chavan.

The grisly scene, which was captured on the mobile phones of stunned passersby, has been published online.

We were somehow able to lay our hands on the video but due to its highly graphic nature, we unfortunately cannot publish it here.
