Isn’t it really amazing how we grow and how time flies so fast. One minute you are an innocent child and the next minute you are an adult who is no longer innocent. Hmm…what a strange world we live in. Time flies very very very fast.
It is against this background that today we take a look at photos of American R&B singer Chris Brown as an innocent child and how in the wink of an eye he transformed from that innocent and cute child to the man that we all know today as Chris Brown. Some adore him others consider him a monster (considering what he did to Rihanna).
Anyway let’s take a trip down memory lane and take a look at the early life of Chris Brown and some very rare pictures from Brown’s childhood years. They are just amazing!
Chris Brown was born Christopher Maurice Brown on May 5, 1989 in Tappahannock, Virginia. His parents are Joyce Hawkins (mother) and Clinton Brown (father).
Brown’s mother Joyce worked as a former day care center director when Brown was young. His father, Clinton, worked as a correction officer at a prison in Virginia. Brown has an older sister named Lytrell Bundy. The last time we heard Lytrell worked in a bank. We don’t know if she still works there as of the time of writing this article.
According to Brown’s parents, he showed great interest in music at a very young age and taught himself how to sing and dance. Brown would obsessively watch Michael Jackson videos and try copying the way Jackson sang and danced. Gradually he began to dance like Jackson.
Because of his brilliant singing ability, around the young age of five, Brown began singing in his church choir. He soon graduated from singing in his church choir to singing at local talent shows.
His parents divorced when he was around 11 and he lived with his mother who had a boyfriend who subjected her to domestic abuse. According to Brown, he was always afraid of his mother’s boyfriend because of his aggressive nature towards his mother.
Despite this, he continued to engage in what he loved doing – singing and dancing. It didn’t take too long for his mother, Joyce to spot her son’s vocal talent. And when she did she helped him start looking for a record deal so he could exploit his talent. He eventually signed to Jive Records in 2004 at the young age of 14.
Brown attended the Essex High School in Virginia and stopped in 2005. He had to because of his music career. He then moved to New York to pursue his music career.
Fast forward…..today Brown is 26 years old and a father of a girl named Royalty. He has sold millions of records all over the world and is considered one of the greatest R&B singers of his generation.
